Lecture: Germ Theory
Like so many of you, I suffered through the boring version of Medicine through Time as a child - with the dog-eared textbook that has the occasional gory picture to puncture an otherwise endless study of dead white guys. I'm, therefore, determined to breathe new life into this timeless course - by forming parallels to the Covid-19 pandemic, using AI art to bring old stories back to life, and by using visual cues to explain the most important turning-points and key factors. This series of lectures examines the breadth study in a thematic approach but constantly draws parallels between the different themes of fighting disease, surgery and public health. Most lectures also contain a quick source analysis and will discuss the long-term significance of each development. The seminars then really focus in on the key exam questions and a step-by-step approach to answering them.
